What is Primary Open-Angle Glaucoma (POAG)?

POAG is the most common form of glaucoma and impacts approximately 57.5 million people.

POAG gradually affects vision due to damage to the optic nerve. There are many risk factors associated with POAG, including increased intraocular pressure (IOP). There are treatments available to regulate IOP and prevent further vision loss; however, not all people with glaucoma have high IOPs or respond to available therapies.

Character is committed to developing therapies that can protect the optic nerve and preserve vision loss for all glaucoma patients.
About the Study
Character Bio is conducting a groundbreaking, longitudinal study to understand the genetic drivers of progression in people with POAG. Our mission is to treat patients before the onset of irreversible vision loss.
